RUMORS OF MARTINEZ' SENATE BID GROW

"Housing Secretary Mel Martinez will resign his Cabinet position next week and head back to Orlando so he can run for the U.S. Senate, sources close to him said Friday." According to an article in last Saturday's Orlando Sentinel. The talk is not new, but lately, it is coming from closer to the source.

The big question for the mortgage industry is whether he will use the issuance of a final rule on RESPA to launch his campaign and if he does, what form that rule will take. Florida Mortgage Professionals will have to be poised for whatever happens in the coming weeks and months!
