July 25 Newsletter: An
Online Update from the Central Florida Chapter
REGISTER NOW for the annual FAMB Central Florida Bowling Bash that will be held the evening of August 9th at the Altamonte Springs AMF Lanes. The cost is $30 per player with four players on each team (adults only). This includes three games of bowling, bowling shoes, FREE beer and sodas, door prizes and lots of fun including Cosmic Music, NO LIGHTS and color pin contests!

Our annual convention and tradeshow was a resounding success. Dozens of educational seminars, hundreds of affilate exhibitors and sponsors and thousands of attendees made this one of the most successful conventions ever.
The convention was also an opportunity for the Central Florida Chapter to be recognized for a Gem Society Award. Our chapter members sponsored more new members than any other chapter. Our membership now tops 840!! Oh, and our volleyball team won the championship for the umpteenth time! Click below to view pictures of the winning team!

NAMB Leadership Conference August 18-21 |
The National Association of Mortgage Brokers Leadership and Development Conference will be held August 18-21, in at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Hotel in Orlando, FL. General Sessions will focus on strategic governance, partnerships and leadership skills that will make you an effective leader.
Speakers include Charles “Chuck” Rumbarger and Chris Avren who will be giving presentations regarding “Understanding the Opportunities and Obligations of Leadership” and “Attitude – Everyone Has One.” Doug Eadie author of High-Impact Governing in a Nutshell-17 Questions that Board Members and CEOs Frequently Ask will discuss “Building a High-Impact Board-CEO Partnership.”

HUD Announces Road to RESPA Reform |
In case you haven't heard, HUD has announced a strategy for developing consensus on a rule to reform the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA). The process involves a series of round table discussions with members of industry, consumer groups, and regulators from HUD, all facilitated by Dr. Charles G. Field. The good Doctor is currently a senior research fellow at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy where he teaches negotiation and conflict resolution.
NAMB is invited to each of the round tables, 3 hosted by HUD in Washington, D.C. and 3 hosted by the Small Business Administration (SBA) in Los Angeles, CA; Chicago, IL; and Fort Worth, TX.
