FAMB STATE CONVENTION EDITION

This is the FAMB State Convention Edition of our newsletter. Due to unexpected demand, Registration has been extended through July 25, 2003. This is your absolute last chance for advance registration!

CONVENTION - WEDNESDAY

8:00 a.m. Shotgun Start for Golf Tournament ($85 per player) There are still a few foursomes left. Don't miss a chance to golf the 18-hole, Joe Lee-designed course at the Westin Diplomat. There are four par-5 holes and a 570-yard hole that is one of the longest in South Florida.

7:00 p.m. Rush Nite - Join the FAMB faculty and students in our annual Chapter Challenge. We always have a great time, but this year, what's past is prologue. A Chapter Cheer, Toga Contest, and outrageous fun. Don't miss it.

CONVENTION - THURSDAY

10:00 a.m. - Awards Brunch and RESPA update. An update from HUD on the proposed changes to RESPA with follow-up by FAMB and NAMB on what we have been doing to influence the final rule. Also, awards for the brokers, affiliates and chapters.

2:30 p.m. - Volley Ball Tournament!! Need we say more? Don't miss as the Central Florida Teams defend their winning streak against whatever South Florida can muster. Libations and Snacks on the Beach!!

CONVENTION - THURSDAY NIGHT

6:30 p.m. - Industry Awards. Find out which affiliates your fellow FAMB members have voted for as the best of the best in the industry. Again, the event is catered and you must be registered to attend.

8:30 P.M. - ??? - Busses to South Beach will run a continuous loop to transport you to the night life of Miami. Dine, Dance and Party with friends. Last bus from South Beach will be leaving at 12:30 a.m. Don't miss the bus! You must be registered to attend.

CONVENTION - SATURDAY

12:30 - 4:30 p.m. - Tradeshow! So many exhibitors that we had to rent additional space. This is not only the best tradeshow in Florida every year, it's the best industry tradeshow any where in the USA! But, if you don't register ahead of time, it will cost you DOUBLE to register onsite. So even if this is all you plan to do, register online today!

8:00 p.m. - Gala Banquest and installation of President- Elect, Nelson Locke. A sophisticated affair, this is not your high school prom. We throw out all the stops to make this evening special. The luxurious hospitality of the Westin Diplomat will really shine Friday Night!

CONVENTION - SATURDAY

11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Tradeshow. This is your last chance to meet and greet affiliates from Florida and around the country who come each year to network with Florida mortgage professionals. Again, if you don't register in advance, it will cost you DOUBLE to register on site.

CONVENTION EDUCATION

As you may know, all licensed mortgage brokers who have held their licenses since before August 31, 2001 must certify that they have complied with the continuing education requirement under FS 494. You need 14 hours (at least 4 on FS 494) prior to renewal.

If you haven't done it, you can get all 14, but only if you register now!! And if you haven't renewed your license, you can do that at the Convention through the Department of Financial Services.
