July 14, 2003 Newsletter: An Online Update from the Central Florida Chapter
PUT The Central Florida Chapter of FAMB gave members and guests a fun-filled evening. It was an insider's preview of what's in store for attendees at this year's State Convention. Check out some photos from the evening to see our Putting Contest, Chapter Cheer, and Toga Fashion Show (you gotta see this!)
Our Third Annual Bowling Bash is selling out quickly. If you want to field a team or be a sponsor, act quickly. This bash will come right on the heels of our state convention - August 12 at the AMF Altamonte Lanes.
The FAMB State Convention is just three weeks away. It runs from August 6 - 9 (Vollyball is Thursday, August 7 at 2:30 pm on the beach) at the Hollywood Diplomat Hotel and Resort. If you haven't registered for the state convention, don't hesitate. The Advance Registration Deadline is Tuesday July 15.
This year, for the first time ever, FAMB has put together an online registration system so you can get an instant confirmation of your hotel, your continuing education, and all other events you plan to attend in Hollywood.
Recently, mortgage professionals have encountered unexpected difficulties when processing Condo loans. A law passed in May of 2003 gives Condo associations the right to charge up to $150.00 to process a Condo Questionnaire. And some associations are using the new law (passed as Senate Bill 592) to refuse to complete the questionnaires altogether.

Senate Bill 592 demonstrates all the more clearly why it is important for mortgage professionals to keep up with the affairs of government on the state and national levels. Be sure to explore the Government section on our web site, and check back often to see what is happening in the legislature.
