JULY MEETING - CONVENTION KICK-OFF

Join FAMB members and their guests as we give you an insider's preview of what's in store for you at this year's State Convention. The evening agenda will include: Sponsored Frat Party, Volleyball Tournament, Putting Contest, Trivia Quiz, Toga Fashion Show (you gotta see this!), Chapter Cheer (see the Board of Directors' spouses perform as cheerleaders as they will represent Central Florida at the Convention)

LICENSING LOOKUP IN FLORIDA

Here are some helpful hints on checking the licensing status of companies and individuals in Florida. There are several places to look, but you can start at the official state of Florida website: MyFlorida.com

There are many professions licensed by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Among them are real estate professionals, appraisers and contractors in the construction industry. License search.

The financial services industry is now regulated by the Florida Department of Financial Services. Under this is the Office of Insurance Regulation. To search for a licensed insurance company (including title, property, specialty, etc.) look them up here.

Under the Department of Financial Services is the Office of Financial Institutions and Securities Regulation, which regulates mortgage brokers, lenders, securities dealers, etc. The same Office of Financial Institutions and Securities Regulation oversees state chartered banks. The Florida Department of Health regulates doctors, nurses and others involved in the medical industry, including massage therapists and acupunture practicioners. Lookup a Medical Professional.

FAMB STATE CONVENTION

The FAMB State Convention is just over a month away. It runs from August 6 - 9 at the Hollywood Diplomat Hotel and Resort. If you haven't registered for the state convention, don't hesitate. The Advance Registration Deadline is July 15 and will be here before you know it. Even if you only want to attend the tradeshow, do it ahead of time.

This year, for the first time ever, FAMB has put together an online registration system so you can get an instant confirmation of your hotel, you continuing education, and all other events you plan to attend in Hollywood. This promises to be a great week, but spaces are limited, so if you want to meet your continuing education requirements at the Convention, register now!!
