Brokers Using Telemarketing, Beware!!

The Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Department is the state agency charged with enforcing Florida's do-not-call list. This can affect mortgage brokers if they make even one prohibited call and Bill Novak of Sarasota found out last week.

A suit filed by the Department charges that B-W Mortgage Services, 180 N. Indiana Ave., contacted 10 people last summer and fall. Apparently there are some folks who just sit at home waiting for the call to come in so they can drop a postcard in the mail to the complaint office.
